FREIGHTWINGS was started on a very modest scale in the year 1979 with initial activities restricted to airfreight clearance ex-Mumbai. The Company gained instant acceptance with the exporting fraternity as it brought with it a fresh approach that lay more emphasis on customer satisfaction. This was a welcome break from the scene prevalent earlier. And the results were there for all to see. The Company gained IATA recognition within a year of its formation, in 1980.The growing demands of its customers acted as a catalyst in its growth, culminating with opening of branches in the commercially important cities like New Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore. An off-shoot of the customer-oriented approach was the opening of the Tirupur branch in the state of Tamil Nadu.Though not a customs port, this office was opened mainly to cater to the growing needs of the Hosiery/ Knitted Garment Industry. The Company gains its strength from its wide base of customers cutting across various industries.
