An SME revolution is brewing. SMEs in India today have the opportunity and support of various governmental and private initiatives to create a level playing field and compete with larger players thanks to digitisation. The size and structure of SMEs enable them to be flexible and benefit the most from digitisation.
A report by KMPG states that 68 per cent of Indian small and medium businesses are offline but those SMEs that are digitally engaged grow twice as fast compared to offline SMEs. Validating that point is that in 2017 alone, the .com domain had about 57% share of the Indian domain names registered. Yet, we have little research on how SMEs in India are using digital tools, their challenges are and what can be done to assist them. And we want to change that.
GlobalLinker’s Digitisation of SMEs Survey 2019 wants to capture experiences and opinions of the SMEs when it comes digital adoption, consumption, education and more.
